being AD military I know all about organizational creep and have no issues engaging in a David and Goliath type of battle. Those of you who know me personally know I’ll never shirk form impossible odds, but sometimes, it’s just not worth the headache. Now that we’re back in this #geobach life Matthew is racking up the frequent flyer miles coming to see us. His travel app booked a flight incorrectly last month for me, using HIS account. It even sent it to my email address. We called when we saw the error and after a month of long distance, late night/early morning phone calls with the airline, Priceline, Kayak and probably some other strangers I just gave up. We ended up buying ANOTHER ticket for Matthew while we dealt with the issue, but oy vey.
During this fun experience I had a representative tell me that I “should’ve called sooner if I wanted the money”, “that we should’ve paid more attention ” and other passive aggressive, unprofessional comments. I called her on her rudeness, and ask to speak to a manager only to be told she was the manager 🙄.
Suffice it to say this is one where “city hall” won. I took the refund minus the airline fee. Maybe it’s because they called me at 0300 JST, maybe because it’s one less thing for me to worry about, maybe…I don’t know. What would you have done? Tell me in the comments.
