You’ve arrived to Yokosuka, you’re free to explore off base, your kids are chocked full of energy, but you don’t know where to go. Even worse, you don’t have a car 🚙, yet…or a license.
Located about a mile from CFAY, it’s an easy walk to the park. Where you can take the time to explore your new neighborhood, relax and enjoy. If you e had the chance to go to outdoor rec, you can actually rent bicycles and ride them to the park instead
If you don’t have littles, then maybe you have daredevils, or are one yourself, and want to improve your skateboarding or BMX riding skills. Umi Kaze park has both, but if you’re hoping to have space and opportunity, make sure you get there early, especially on the weekends. After 8:00 or 9:00 am the skateboard park can get crowded.
A great place to spend the day Umi Kaze park has a huge green space that is the perfect place to pitch a tent and pop open a chair. On weekends and holidays you’ll see many Families and friends camped out and BBQing while the kids play, fly kites or fish. I’m the summer there’s a rental area for grill supplies and a fountain for kids to play in.
If you’re worried about not having the supplies or tools you need, don’t worry. There’s a Livin (similar to Walmart) and an Avec(a grocery store) on either side. You can easily find everything you need to outfit your family for a day of fun!!
